OKX will rename XAUTUSDT perpetual to XAUUSDT perpetual

To enhance your trading experience, OKX will rename XAUTUSDT perpetual to XAUUSDT perpetual at 8:05 am on Jan 15, 2026 (UTC). The details are as follows:

Trading, order and position

The trading of XAUTUSDT perpetual will be suspended from 8:05 am to 8:25 am on Jan 15, 2026 (UTC). During that period, you will not be able to transfer funds, place, adjust, or cancel orders for the affected pairs. This suspension does not apply to other trading pairs. Your orders for this perpetual will be retained in the orderbook, and your position quantity and average open price for the perpetual will stay the same before and after the rename event.

Margin requirements

XAUUSDT perpetual and XAUT spot will not belong to the same risk unit after the rename event. If you hold the perpetual in Portfolio-margin mode, the margin requirement for your position on this perpetual may increase. You are encouraged to manage your risk, add more margin or close your position if necessary.

The position tier for this perpetual will be the same before and after renaming, if you hold the perpetual in Multi-currency margin mode or Futures mode.

Index

Our system will quote the XAU/USDT index to calculate funding fee rate, price limit and mark price etc. The index components for XAU/USDT index will be adjusted after renaming:

OKX_TradFi component price is calculated as a weighted average derived from multiple major commodity price providers.

Please note that due to market conditions, the adjustment time may be delayed.

Funding fee rate

To mitigate the impacts on existing positions, the funding fee rate cap/floor will be adjusted to +0.005%/-0.005% for the first funding fee charging or paying out cycle (8:00 am to 12:00pm Jan 15, 2026). Then, the funding rate cap/floor will be adjusted back to +1.5%/-1.5% after the period.

Trading bots, strategy orders and copy trading

All the trading bots (including Future grid, Future DCA, Signal bot and Arbitrage strategy) and strategy orders (including Trailing stop, Trigger, Scaled order, Chase order, Iceberg and TWAP) under this contract will be closed out and cancelled 4 hours before renaming. Besides, copy trading for this perpetual will be suspended 4 hours before renaming. If you’re concerned about fees or slippage from automatic closures, we recommend stopping them manually.

Please note: Your TP/SL order on this contract will be cancelled after trading suspension.

API

After renaming, OKX will no longer support subscribing to the WebSocket channels for this perpetual using instId = XAUT-USDT-SWAP or instFamily = XAUT-USDT, nor will it support sending HTTP requests via OpenAPI with these parameters. Please use instId = XAU-USDT-SWAP or instFamily = XAU-USDT for related trading operations after the contract is renamed.

Others

XAUUSDT perpetual after renaming will be temporarily able to hedge with XAUT spot under delta neutral strategy mode, until further notification.
