OPENAI PARTNERS WITH CHIP GIANTS TO LAUNCH MRC NETWORK PROTOCOL Massive Tech Alliance: OpenAI announced a collaboration with AMD, Broadcom, Intel, Microsoft, and NVIDIA to introduce a new open networking protocol called Multipath Reliable Connection (MRC). Optimizing AI Performance: The MRC protocol enables large-scale AI training clusters to run faster and more reliably while significantly reducing GPU resource waste. Breakthrough Tech & Deployment: Based on RoCE and extending SRv6 source routing, MRC can connect over 100,000 GPUs using only two-layer switches, reducing power consumption and hardware count. MRC is already deployed across OpenAI’s major supercomputers, including the Stargate project with OCI and Microsoft’s Fairwater supercomputer.
